Who Are Fife Bikeworks
Fife Bikeworks is a local charity dedicated to making cycling accessible for everyone. It is our goal to make a healthier, cleaner and more active community for everyone regardless of background. In partnership with companies such as Route Assembly, we aim to deliver quality bikes at a fraction of the cost.
Our team consists of local business men, volunteers and politicians who are committed to fostering a circular economy within the bike industry and promote active travel in the community.
Donation
To date we have donated over 800 bikes to local youth and those in need. Increasing accessibility to active transport in our community.
Refurbishment
Through our partnership with Fife Council we collect unwanted bikes from recycling centres to give them a brand new life.
Access
Our collected bikes and donations allows us to keep the costs of our bikes incredibly low. We want everyone to be able to own a bike!
Training
Our volunteer program allows us to train those in the local community. Giving them opportunity to join the bike industry through our partners.
Repair
Our mechanics and volunteers are on hand to service and repair your bike at incredibly low costs, so you don’t have to worry about your bikes condition.
Sustainability
Through upcycling we reduce the need for raw materials in the industry, and our access philosophy helps take cars off the road.
How Can You Help Bikeworks
We’re dedicated to making the community better and ensuring that everyone can afford a bike and to keep it in good condition. But to do that we do need your help. It takes time and money to collect, repair and upcycle bikes, so we are enormously grateful to anyone who has the spare time or money to donate to us.
What helps most though is if you buy and fix your bikes with us, we might not always have what you need but we’d love if you come to see our stock before buying from forums, or online marketplaces. And if you’re thinking of selling your bike online we encourage you to donate it to us instead. We can make sure it’s in top condition and that it goes to good use.
Remember we can’t do the good we want to do if people don’t know about us, so if you support what we do then spread the word to your friends, in person, on social media or wherever you can. We believe in our community so help us make Fife the best community it can be.
